The Hiller Aviation Museum showcases aircraft as diverse as 19th-century gliders, daredevil pilot Lincoln Beachey's Little Looper, and a number of the Hiller helicopters created by museum founder Stanley Hiller, Jr. Other attractions include flight simulators, an Imagination Playground, the Invention Lab, and even the opportunity to fly a drone.
Some attractions, like flight simulators and drone flying, cost extra. Location: Skyway Road, San Carlos Park at the airport terminal on the East side of the field, proceed into the airport office. The airport may provide a shuttle or you can call the museum. Also, it is a short walk around the outside airport perimeter. The museum is wheelchair accessible.
You can pick up and drop off passengers at the main entrance to the museum. The Flight Sim Zone is designed to be fully wheelchair accessible. Both fast food and full service restaurants are within short driving distance of the Hiller Aviation Museum. The Hiller Aviation Museum welcomes service animals. Under federal law, service animals are dogs trained to work or perform tasks for the benefit of people with physical or mental disabilities.
Dogs or any other type of animal or pet whose sole function is to provide comfort, companionship, or emotional support—such as a support animal—do not qualify as service animals under federal law and are not permitted in the museum.
